Five Different Industrial Coatings to Increase the Life-Cycle of Equipment

Industrial equipment is put through stress that the common person cannot imagine. Not only is the equipment used unlike anything in the home, it is often exposed to elements that would destroy household products. For this very reason, there are coatings used to protect and extend the life of the equipment. Without these coatings, some equipment would be rendered useless in just a few months, or even weeks in extreme circumstances.

Nedox- this coating is meant to protect most metals. It has a hardening effect on metals and aids in the resistance of damage created by acids, chemicals, and corrosion. In addition to resisting corrosion, this coating is self-lubricating, resulting in aiding the equipment to have a longer lifespan. It usually makes the material easier to clean and it will not chip or flake under extreme conditions. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -250 degrees Fahrenheit to 550 degrees Fahrenheit.

Plasmadize- this coating is used in many cases where the equipment is being restored. This coating offers the flexibility of being able to be applied in either a thin or thick coating. It has been known to perform at temperatures up to 1,300 degrees Fahrenheit. It offers a quality alternative to many other types of coating. The coating is not susceptible to inorganic or organic compounds other than hydrochloric and sulfuric acids.

Hi-T-Lube- this coating is known to decrease friction significantly. Changes in temperature rarely if ever affect the coatings ability to adhere to metal. Testing has shown that this coating can withstand a.001″ thick salt spray for as long as 200 hours. Like Nedox, it is a self-lubricating, meaning its promotes an extended lifespan of the equipment on which it is used, resulting in a lower capital investment for new equipment.

Dynaloy- this coating often serves as an alternative to flash chrome and THDC. This is ideal for high-friction atmospheres as it reduces both friction and wear on the equipment. It is compatible with both non-ferrous and ferrous metals and performs in temperatures ranging from 399 degrees Fahrenheit to 1,699 degrees Fahrenheit.

Goldenedge- this coating generally serves to protect cutting equipment, allowing it to keep its edge up to 20 times longer than without the coating. The coating also protects equipment against alkalis and acids. It can be used for any type of cutting surface or shape without restrictions. This is recommended for any cutting equipment used under stressful circumstances for long periods of time.
